She’s lived in salmonid-populated areas for her whole life (like many other octolings of her kinda sorta subspecies) and thus looks a lil different from the “average” octoling. These areas are by the shore and water tends to rise pretty often, which makes Chill and other inkfish near that area kinda just…naturally a bit more resistant to water. Their ancestors or whatever kinda just evolved to be able to withstand allat a bit more.

They’re somewhere in their mid 20’s and work for Grizzco in weapon repairs with Thrash (the shark guy in the art below), despite the company’s reputation and what they do to their literal neighbors. It’s complicated (…and they pay well despite the HORRID hours).

Speaking of Thrash, they get along just fine. Chill tends to let Thrash complain to them about how much their job sucks, mostly because the people who bring in the broken weapons tend to just be careless with them. They’re polar opposites more or less, with Thrash tending to be angry and Chill being….well..A chill octo that lowkey doesn’t give a fuck. They hang out whenever they can, mostly just buying junk food and watching trash tv on the rare occasion they both have free time.

Some random stuff abt Chill would be that she enjoys the little things in life; they’re the kind of person to “stop and smell the flowers”. They were always like that, so ig that just makes them calm and cool in nature or whatever. They don’t really play inksports, but they do watch major tournaments and stuff, mostly on the off chance that someone does something stupid (she finds it funny). She also likes shopping…mostly just for random antiques. She thinks it’s fascinating how something that old belonged to someone and how well-loved it must’ve been. They’re the kinda person to have a room full of vintage dolls and trinkets (…if she had the space in her apartment for allat).

Back on my Secrets of the Machine posting again. This game needs more love. Little bit more positivity for Ragtime Guffie. I figure Ericka and he would get along quite well despite their differences, and she's probably run into him either at the hotel or on visits to the game. Ericka's a friendly soul who's been isolated on her own much of her life and is actually a good boss and showman. So I could see her being a much needed ray of light for Guffie. And Guffie...he's proper but not strict. He's not in the game much but he seems a harmless, friendly soul. Definitely deserves a break and a chance to get out of The Drawing Room sometimes. Which Ericka can definitely relate to.

So here's a lil bit of fluff inspired by the scene with Stan at the end of HT3. Ericka showing off a bit of dramatic flair welcoming Guffie to the hotel in a parrallel of HIS greeting to the Old Time Theater in game, much to his appreciation. Bonus: Little Simon and Lucy behind the desk, "helping" their mom greet the guests. (It's a family business, and Ericka definitely seems to the type to bring her kids to work to be close to them.) Lucy nicknames Guffie "Beans" here as I've heard many players do in Commentary Playthroughs since he wears a bean can on his head. I think Guffie would kinda like it. Lucy and Simon's clothes I referenced from Monster's Inc and Nightmare Before Christmas clothes I saw at Walmart earlier that day.

Another bonus: Ragtime Guffie probably paid in Slugs and faded away after turning around with the key, much like in the game.

spring evening in co. kilkenny

these are the grimsteads. they are my fictional family from late 19th century ireland. this particular scene would be closer to 1890. i have been in ireland for the past 3 months and have had the privilege to visit several vernacular cottages and so here i am applying some of the things i learned! still not completely accurate but i’m happy with it anyway :).

they characters are, from left to right: bláthnaid, john, niallán (nellie), eilís (ellie), bee (who actually belongs to my gf!!), and peter.

This is Mistoffelees and Victoria's parents (I have ocs for them but they arnt relevant rn beside Victorialooks like their dad),

OR this is Jenny (who in my au is the current guardian of vic) and Bustopher (the twins uncle)

The two adults are reminiscing while watching the kits play, how the two siblings could never not be together as they are perfect fit for friends!!

The two adults learning to understand eachother through the love they both share for the kits, and getting closer together as partners/ friends because of it!!

(The line 'One so fair and the other Light and Dark... sudden joy and sudden spark' really sold that this is about the monochrome twins)
